In Zambia, beans is known as, “poor mans food”, it is NEVER served at special occasions. In Mozambique on the other hand, beans is not seen in that light especially if it’s cooked as “Feijoada.” When ever I travel, this bean stew is the first dish I long for, its a good thing I can cook it from memory.

Whether it’s a low, middle or high income community a party or wedding feast is not complete without Feijoada! As they say, one mans tea, is another mans poison 🙂
